Vice President Joe Biden Visits Chrysler Plant

United States Vice President Joe Biden visited the Toledo, Ohio Chrysler assembly line this week. His trip was part pep rally and part tour, as he escorted Sergio Marchionne, new CEO of Chrysler Group LLC, around the area.

The Toledo Complex originally opened in 1910 and produced Willys-Overland vehicles before becoming famous for making the first Jeep CJ. The plant is composed of two facilities: Stickney and Parkway Annex.
During Biden's visit, he stopped and chatted with employees in charge of making the windshield, header seal, rear carpet, visor, support bar foam cover and wiper installations.

MAZDA6 Rated at 43 MPG

Normally, when a car gets over 40 miles to the gallon you expect it to be small, Japanese and a hybrid vehicle. Well, this one is from Japan, but doesn't fit the usual criteria.

Mazda introduced the all new MAZDA6, it is a mid-size sedan from the auto maker, and running on a regular internal combustion gas engine still gets 43 miles to the gallon.

Ford - New Engines Will Boost Fuel Economy

Want better fuel economy out of your Ford pickup truck? They've got you covered. Ford said it plans to rework the 2011 F-150 pickups, producing not one but four engines - including a turbocharged six-cylinder previously not available on its trucks.

Ford will also work on new tech that can drastically bring up fuel economy ratings.

The new Ford power train lineup includes a 3.7-liter V6, 5-liter and 6.2-liter V8s, and a 3.5-liter V6. The V6 will implement Ford's EcoBoost twin-turbo system to increase power while cutting fuel consumption.

Chrysler Will Make an Operating Profit

Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said the automaker earned an "operating profit" in the second quarter, while Fiat reported it earned $146 million in the April through June quarter. Chrysler will release the official second-quarter results on Aug. 9.

During this past quarter, Fiat, which owns 20% of Chrysler, began distributing Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles in Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.

In May, Fiat and Chrysler began integrating their Chrysler and Lancia sales networks in Europe. This will lead to a new network of more than 1,000 dealerships throughout Europe by 2014.

Dodge Challenger MOPAR Edition for 2011

Dodge wants the muscle car fan in you to drop by their local dealerships, like Jensen Dealerships - 3909 Stadium Dr - Sioux City, IA 51106.

The American auto maker is offering a Mopar edition of its 2010 Challenger R/T muscle car, with a hood-venting system and a unique cover for the car's 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine.
